Berekum Chelsea have suspended midfielder Gladosn Awako for two weeks for verbally abusing head coach Johannes Van der Pluijm.

The diminutive offensive midfielder descended heavily on the Dutchman last Thursday after a friendly against Ghana's Under-20 team at the Tema Park.

The former Heart of Lions player was protesting for the lack of playing time and accused the coach for deliberately leaving him on the bench.

"We have decided to suspend Gladson Awako for his unruly behaviour towards head coach Van der Pluijm," Club president Emmanuel Kyeremeh told www.berekumchelsea.com

"He must also apologize to the coach through the media."

However, the club refused to freeze his wages as part of his punishment.

Awako was left out of the squad that travelled to Monrovia to play LISCR in the CAF Champions League preliminary round qualifier.

He was a member of the Ghana squad which won the 2009 Fifa World Cup in Egypt.
