Black Starlets leave Ghana for Morocco friendlies

Ghana’s U-17 national team, the Black Starlets have left the country for a series of friendlies against their Moroccan counterparts.

As part of the Ghana Football Association’s development strategy for the national youth team players, the team will undergo several training programmes in Rabat before the matches against Morocco.

The young Atlas Lions are preparing for the U-17 Africa Cup of Nation, having qualified as hosts of the tournament.

However, the Black Starlets failed to reach the competition after a disappointing WAFU cup of nation, which saw the team eliminated in the group stage.

The Black Starlets will engage Morocco in three matches before returning to Ghana.

Morocco and Ghana have a good sporting relation.

Last year, the female national team and the U-20 teams of the North African country were in Ghana for a series of friendlies.
