Black Starlets to engage Morocco in first friendly today

The Black Starlets of Ghana will today engage their Moroccan counterparts in an international friendly game in Rabat.

The national U-17 side left Ghana to the North African country to play the two friendlies with the Young Atlas Lions who are preparing to host the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations which comes off later this year.

The team will be based in Morocco for one week where they will engage their counterparts.

According to the GFA, the friendlies will also help in the development of the national team as players from the national U-15 team and those still eligible to play the Black Starlets after the tournament will be used by Coach Ben Fukuo in this training tour.

The Moroccan FA will be paying for the expenses of the Black Starlets in this international friendly games.

The Black Starlets held its first training session which took place at the Prince Moulay Abdellah sports complex, home ground of Moroccan giants, FAR Sportive.

Ghana will miss out of this year’s AFCON U-17 tournament after failing to qualify for the WAFU U-17 Cup of Nations held in Togo last month.

The Moroccan Football Association in collaboration with the Ghana Football Association over the past few months have been engaged in a series of international friendlies between the male and female national teams.
