Black Stars team doctor Baba Adamu has cautioned captain Asamoah Gyan against exerting too much pressure on himself in playing matches to avoid injuries.

The 29-year-old completed his first full game on his injury return for Shanghai SIPG over the weekend.

Gyan has been plagued with a series of injuries in recent months, seeing him sit out the last two games for the Black Stars.

Ghana team doctor Baba Adamu has now revealed he has adviced the former Al Ain ace on managing his health to boost his fitness.

“I have spoken to him and he has assured me he will come for the game [against Comoros],” Dr. Baba told Starr FM.

“I asked him to be cautious in the games he played because his injury is his same hamstring.

“He must not be pressured by his Chinese club to play games due to his importance.

“He took my advice and assured he will take note of this.”

Asamoah Gyan was unable to play for Ghana in their 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda in September and also missed the international friendly against Canada the following month all through injuries.
