The Black Stars of Ghana will leave Johannesburg immediately for Ghana after sealing qualification for next year’s AFCON with a 1-1 draw against South Africa.

The team is expected to touch down in the Ghanaian capital at dawn on Friday and will start preparations for the final group game later in the day.

Ghana held the South Africans at the own backyard after Ajax star Mohammed Kudus opened the scoring in the 48th minute of the match with a brilliant solo effort.

But the lead was cancelled just three minutes later through Brighton’s Percy Tau.

Ghana, four times African champions have now qualified for the 23rd time for the Nations Cup despite having a game in hand.

The Black Stars will face São Tomé and Principe in the final group game on Sunday in Accra, with the aim of finishing top of Group C.

South Africa and Sunday will battle it out for the next slot in Group C.
