Brazilian giants Vasco da Gama have confirmed talks hat they are interested in signing Ghanaian star, Latif Blessing.

The club's president, Alexander Campello confirmed it but explained that they are facing difficulties in completing the transfer.

The former Ghana Premier League top scorer is not the club’s only target as the Vasco also want to sign former Manchester United star Antonio Valencia.

"We have not given up on (Antonio) Valencia or (Latif) Blessing, we keep trying, talking, there are some difficulties but we are working. We will always look for reinforcements without doing anything crazy, without getting out of the financial austerity that is so important for the club, ” explained the president of the Rio de Janeiro club in an interview for the Machão da Gama program.

The 23-year-old has drawn the attention of the South American outfit after an excellent time in the Major Soccer League.

The talented Ghanaian is being courted to move to Brazil, at least for an initial loan deal amid uncertainty surrounding his long-term future.

Blessing is reported to be unsettled in the United States as his wife is yet to get a travelling visa to enter the country.

Latif started his career in Ghana and was elected the best player in the national league in 2016. In the same year, he was the top scorer with 17 goals.

In 2017 he moved to Kansas City and the following season he moved to Los Angeles FC.

In all, since his first season as a professional in the United States in 2017, he has played 103 games in the MLS.

Last season he mastered 34 matches, 29 of them as a starter. He scored five goals and made six assists.
