Real Tamale United qualify to Ghana Premier League

Real Tamale United have returned to the Ghana Premier League at a canter after a 4-1 win over Unity FC on Wednesday on the final day of competition in the playoffs. 

The Tamale-based side finished with three straight wins in the Zone 1 playoffs after seeing off their opponent in a remarkable fashion.

A brace from Yousef  and Kwame Saed handed RTU the sweet victory at the Baba Yara stadium.

The Northern-based side got relegated last season after a difficult campaign.

But the side have been revived under former Ghana star Mohammed Gargo who has masterminded their qualification back to the elite division and bring top flight football to fans up North.

Amidaus Professionals joined also booked a historic qualification to the top with a narrow 1-0 win over King Solomon at the Gyandu Park at Sekondi.

Akyem Techniman-based Istanbul missed the chance to qualify after a surprised 1-0 defeat to bottom club Danbort at the Robert Mensah stadium.

Both teams must start earnest preparations ahead of the start of the upcoming season in October
