Players of flamboyant Premier League newcomers Techiman City FC have boycotted training for the past three days over unpaid salaries and signing-on fees, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.
Sources close to the playing body revealed that the playing body are owed two months salaries and have since boycotted training under Coach Yusif Abubakar insisting they will only train after the matter has been resolved.
According to the source, the playing body postulates that about 70% of the current team members who graduated with the team from Division One still have 6 months of their salaries unpaid.
The old players in the team are therefore said to have advised the new players that their monies will not be paid as they experienced during their days in the Division One.
Other players who joined the team before the start of the season signed inconclusive contracts with the club without proper due diligence because the window was closing.
These new players are still battling the President of the club Charles Kwadwo Ntim [Micky Charles] to conclude their rush-contracts and take their signing-on fees as agreed upon.
The source further added that, with the sponsorship from Sasso and the tremendous attendance at their matches, the players are taken aback as to why their monies are still not being paid.
The players are currently waiting to meet the President of the club who is believed to have travelled to Accra to return and resolve the matter before they return to training.
