Cádiz vs Barcelona: how and where to watch - times, TV, online

Published on: 04 December 2020

All the information you need to know on how and where to watch Cádiz host Barcelona at Estadio Ramón Carranza in Cádiz on 5 December at 21:00 CET.

FC Barcelona will be aiming to make it back-to-back wins in LaLiga during their trip south to face Cádiz, after beating Osasuna last weekend at home (4-0).

Ronald Koeman’s team have picked up 14 points from nine matches in the domestic competition, while their hosts occupy sixth spot in the standings, one place and one point above their guests. If you are in the US you can tune in on Fanatiz.

Cádiz, who finished second in the Second Division last season, are playing in the competition for the first time since the 2005-06 campaign and they will do as much as they can to remain in the Primera. They have already shown this with brilliant performances like that against Real Madrid, beating the Spanish powerhouses 0-1 in October.

Cádiz with one point from last nine available

However, despite some impressive showings, it may be a good time for the visitors to grab a victory, as Álvaro Cervera’s team have collected just one point out of the last nine possible, although there is no shame in losing to Atlético Madrid and Real Sociedad, the two most in-form teams in the competition. Barça, though, need to find the inspiration that has seen them win all five of their Champions League matches.

Veteran Ávaro Negredo to play against Barça

For the match against the Catalan squad, Cádiz will be able to call upon Álvaro Negredo. The experienced Spanish striker returned to the training sessions and could feature from the start.

The other good news for Cervera is that Augusto Fernández and Anthony Lozano seem to have recovered from recent injuries and could feature, however, Juan Cala and José Mari remain unavailable.

There could be some changes in the Andalusian starting XI from the one that took to the field in the 1-1 draw to Elche last week, as Alberto Perea and Jon Ander Garrido could play from the start.

Araújo fit again, Messi is back and Dest-Mingueza in defence

As for Barcelona, Ronald Araújo is back on the list of players that will take on Cádiz, while Samuel Umtiti, Gerard Piqué, Sergi Roberto and Ansu Fati are all still injured. Clément Lenglet will probably partner Óscar Mingueza in the defensive line, while Sergiño Dest should start at right-back.

The midfield could see the return of Frenkie de Jong in the starting XI, as he played as a substitute in Budapest against Ferencváros, while Lionel Messi and Philippe Coutinho, who didn’t play in that Champions League fixture, should be back in action.

Ousmane Dembélé, who scored against the Hungarian team, will probably partner Antoine Griezmann up front, as the French striker seems to have recovered his confidence with his last performances.
