CAF Women's Champions League: We will be cautious not to repeat AS FAR mistakes against AS Mande, says Ampem Darkoa coach

Published on: 08 November 2023

Ampem Darkoa Ladies head coach Joe Nana Adarkwah, has emphasised the importance of learning from their previous mistakes as they prepare to face Malian side AS Mande in the CAF Women's Champions League.

Ampem Darkoa secured a hard-fought victory against defending champions AS FAR in their opening match but had to come from behind to do so.

Coach Adarkwah acknowledged that his team had made significant errors in their first game against the Moroccan opponents, particularly in the first half when they trailed. He has been diligently addressing those issues to ensure they are not repeated in the upcoming match against AS Mande.

Reflecting on their performance against AS FAR, Adarkwah stated, "We were almost written off in that game on Monday against AS FAR, but we fought through and got that win." He also added, "I also realised there were a number of mistakes during our first-half play, especially, and we are working on that so we do not repeat them."

The Black Princesses' assistant manager is optimistic that their victory against AS FAR has set the tone for two more victories against AS Mande and Hurricanes FC, which would secure their advancement to the next stage of the competition.

Ampem Darkoa currently lead Group B with 3 points from their first game.
