Ghanaian forward Caleb Ekuban came off the bench to score for Trabzonspor in their 2-0 win over Kayserispor in the Turkish Supaliga.

Ekuban was heavily expected to miss the game following the death of his mother last week.

But the 24-year-old hitman defied the orders of his club’s hierarchy to give him some days off to attend the funeral by making the matchday squad for the game against Kayserispor.

With visitors inability to convert the plethora of chances they were getting, coach Unal Karaman threw Ekuban into fray on the 74th minute and the Ghanaian did not disappoint as he fetched the opener twelve minutes later.

Trabzonspor sealed the win at the death of the match through substitute Vahid Amiri.

Ekuban has netted 2 goals in nine appearance for the club since joining on loan from English Championship side Leeds United.
