VIDEO: Africa football chief Danny Jordaan outrightly denies rape allegations

More allegations of sexual predation involving South African Football Association President Danny Jordaan have surfaced. This follows artist and former ANC MP Jennifer Ferguson's reveal that she was rapped more than twenty years ago, allegedly, at the hands of the SAFA president.

Mamodupi Mohlala-Mulaudzi, Jordaan's legal representative has said that he will be release a written statement denying all claims by Ferguson. She adds that this decision was made after she and Jordaan listen to all the debates surrounding the matter on 702.

My client has now made a decision that he will now be making a press release that will be released tomorrow, whereby he will be specifically denying all the allegations made against him by Ms Ferguson.

Ferguson responded to this by thanking the other woman who have bravely come out and spoken of their sexual assault stories involving Jordaan. She also called other women who have similar experience to come forward so they can build a strong case.

She says the more women who come forward, the more powerful they become and the more supportive they become in dealing with their ordeal.

It is an essential part in blanching what is essentially a really toxic boil on our South African landscape - where men is positions of leadership abuse their power in that way.

For Ferguson, the life changing trauma of sexual assault is keep quiet in these powerful and political spaces. That is why it is important to speak up.

Ferguson says she knows how painful it is to recount this, but that in expresses this one can begin healing and bring those who abuse their power in such a manner are held accountable.
