Cedar Stars record 3–0 defeat at home
Cedar Stars Academy displayed impressive attacking prowess in our match Week 16 fixture of the 2023/2024 Greater Accra Division Two League encounter against Immigration FC, despite a 0-3 scoreline.
The Forever Green Lads started brightly, creating two clear-cut chances in the opening 30 minutes. However, they were unable to convert these opportunities into goals. Our opponent capitalized on a lapse in concentration just before halftime, earning a penalty that was successfully converted.
Undeterred, the team continued to push forward in the second half, creating numerous chances yet again. Unfortunately, their persistence went unrewarded, as they were unable to find the back of the net.
Immigration FC added to their lead in the 60th minute with a well-taken free kick, followed by another goal in the 87th minute to secure victory.
Despite the score line, the teams’ attacking performance throughout the match deserves significant praise. The boys showcased their attacking potential and fighting spirit throughout the match.
Their ability to create scoring opportunities against a formidable opponent bodes well for the team’s success and is a positive sign for the young team moving forward in the league.
