Chelsea coach impressed by team's adherence to tactics

Berekum Chelsea coach Yusif Abubakar has hailed his team’s strict adherence to his game plan in the 2-0 win over Asante Kotoko.

The Blues shattered the 11-match unbeaten run of the champions in the week 12 fixture of the Premier League at the Golden City Park on Sunday.

First half goals from ex Kotoko players Eric Bekoe and Jordan Opoku were enough to secure the vital win for Chelsea in front of an impressive crowd in Berekum.

Coach Abubakar is however thrilled with the overall play of his team despite being without key players; Richard Kissi-Boateng, Solomon Asante and Issaka Ibrahim.

The trio had only returned to Ghana on Saturday after holding contractual talks with DR Congo clubs TP Mazembe and Don Bosco.

“I was impressed with the general play of my team, they played very well to the game plan and I think things went very well,” he told MTNFootball.com.

“I had to change our training methods during the week and also shift some players around due to the absence of Kissi-Boateng, Solomon Asante and Issaka (Ibrahim).

“I had to tell the big men that following our training all week-long we had to rest them and go ahead with the players with whom we had worked with all week.”

The win now shoots Berekum Chelsea to the top of the Premier League table with 24 points – one clear off closest contender Aduana Stars.
