Despite the wintery conditions there were plenty of smiles at Chelsea’s Cobham training ground on Tuesday as a host of Blues supporters watched training before meeting their heroes.

The fans and their family members were invited by the Chelsea Foundation to watch Maurizio Sarri and his coaching staff put the players through their paces during our latest Community Day.

After training, the players spent time chatting to the Foundation guests, as well as posing for photographs with the visitors and signing autographs to give them some great mementoes from the day.

Among those to spend time with the Foundation guests was winger Callum Hudson-Odoi. He said: ‘It is really good to have days like this. All the players enjoy meeting the kids and they are all definitely happy to be here – you can tell that by their smiles!

‘It is a great day and everyone really comes together to enjoy football. This is a big club but also a community club and that is important to the players.’

Ben Kelly, who was refereed to us by the Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals Charity, had braved the cold to meet his favourite player and Eden Hazard didn’t disappoint!

His mum, Gina, revealed just how much it means to her seven-year-old son. She said: ‘Ben is an in-patient at Brompton and it is amazing that through their charity and the Chelsea Foundation he has been able to come here and meet the players.

‘He’s been looking forward to it for so long and especially meeting Eden Hazard who wanted to take him with him! Thanks to everyone for the opportunity.’

For the regular Community Days the Chelsea Foundation links up with a range of charities to arrange visits for seriously or terminally ill supporters and their carers, giving them a well-deserved boost in what is obviously a difficult time for them and their families.
