CHELSEA, Giroud: "No challenge here. Joining a lower-level club wouldn't bother me"

Published on: 20 March 2019

Interviewed by RTL, Chelsea and French NT striker Olivier Giroud (32) admitted his Blues venture being basically over: "I'm living a messed up situation right here. Since January, there's no challenge on who gets to play (referring to the club signing Gonzalo Higuain, Reporter's Note). I know I'm going to play just Europa League matches, and I plan to give the best of me in that competition. My future? Joining a lower-level team wouldn't bother me, at all. As long as I get to play more, of course. Landing back to France? Maybe. That might happen". Former Arsenal and Montpellier hitman, playing for Chelsea since February 2018, was linked to Olympique Marseille during last winter window, as well as to Besiktas, Fenerbahçe, and West Ham.
