Columbus Crew captain Jonathan Mensah is not ruling out a return to Europe

Ghana and Columbus Crew defender Jonathan Mensah has reiterated his desire to return to Europe.

The 30-year-old captain of Major League Soccer side Columbus Crew insists when the opportunity presents itself for him to return to Europe, he won't hesitate.

Mensah sighted examples with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Rooney who spent time in the MLS and returned to Europe to flourish with their clubs.

According to Mensah, the MLS is not a retirees league as has been conceived by many football fans.

“Never say never," he told Planet Football Africa in an interview.

"What will get your name out there is if you keep putting in good performances week in and week out for your team.

“This league has been tagged a retirement league but it has attracted big superstars in the likes of Zlatan, Frank Lampard, Rooney among others.

"That tells you how competitive this league is and it’s getting even better and better,” he added.
