Asante Kotoko legend Joe Debrah says playing for the club requires a lot of efforts, sacrifice and dedication which the current crop of players lack.

Joe Debrah, a household name during the 1990s in Ghana football shared his experience on the performance of the team in recent times especially after their elimination from the CAF Champions League by Sudanese side Al Hilal.

According to him, watching the game against Al Hilal at the Accra Sports Stadium made him realize most of the players were not up to the standard of Asante Kotoko that the team is below standard in

“I watched the game against Al Hilal in the CAF Champions League. The current Kotoko squad needs to work very hard. They need to be doing extra training. Any team that faces Kotoko prepares adequately and very well. So the players must train and be ready for any team”, he told Happy FM.

He expressed his desire to work with the current team when his services are needed by the club.

“Nobody has ever approached me to work with Asante Kotoko. My doors are always opened and I am willing to work with Asante Kotoko”.
