Diogo Dalot told his Manchester United teammates they need to 'keep working' after Sunday's 6-0 win over Tranmere in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Dalot was one of six United scorers as the Reds progressed in style at Prenton Park, with Harry Maguire, Jesse Lingard, Phil Jones, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood also netting.

The 20-year-old said he was more pleased with the team's performance than he was with his first goal for the club and called for focus ahead of upcoming games against Manchester City and Wolves.

"It was more like a release of something I've been feeling inside me after three months," Dalot said of his goal. "It's been a tough journey but these kind of things, the win and the goal, it makes me feel like I'm doing a good job in fighting and in working every day and in taking the opportunities.

"More than a goal, the win is worth it. Coming to a difficult pitch, a proper English game, and you get a result like this... I think it's a well done for us and now we need to keep working because we've got two difficult games before the winter break.

"It's why we're here (for games like City and Wolves). It's why we work every day, for these kind of games, for these kind of fights and now we focus on tomorrow, recover well and then we go again on Wednesday."

Asked for his verdict on Harry Maguire's goal after the defender also opened his United account in Birkenhead, Dalot said: "It was a fantastic goal.

"I think everyone was little bit admiring after that goal but I think it was a beautiful goal and one that he will remember forever."
