Daniel Nii Adjei has rejected a new contract offer at Asante Kotoko, reports in the local media have claimed.
The Premier League Champions are anxious to tie the impresseive midfielder to a new long-term deal but reports say negotiations on his future has hit a snag with both parties yet to agree to the terms of the contract.
According to reports, Kotoko à are willing to part away with 30,000 Ghana Cedis for a two-year renewable deal with the player believed to be unwilling to budge.
The latest development is reported to have stunned Executive Board Chairman Dr Kofi Kodua Sarpong who is a huge admirer of theà talentedà enforcer.
He expects to meet the clubââ¬â¢sà hierarchyà by next week to sort out his club future
ââ¬ÅI have been given a proposal to study and would meet my manager to look at it. There are issues I will not be in a position to say at the moment,â⬠Adjei said
"I don't want to talk about what is contained in the new agreement but what I can say is that they have to come again,"
ââ¬ÅBut of course like Iââ¬â¢ve said, football is my work and where I will get the best deal is where I will be,ââ¬
ââ¬ÅAnywhere I find myself; if I feel satisfied I will not blink and eye to either stay or move. After all that is my work,ââ¬
ââ¬ÅI will meet Kotoko officials next week to see how far we go with negotiations."
The latest stand-off has alerted Hearts of Oak who have not hidden their desire to prize away last season Most Valuable Player à from Kumasi.
The 2000 African Champions have the financial war chest to match the players demand.
