Italian side Hellas Verona will pay two million euros to DjurgÃ¥rden as part of a clause inserted in Isak Hien’s transfer if he makes his debut for the Swedish national team in the UEFA Nations League.
Hien, who is of Ghanaian descent, has been named to Sweden's Nations League squad, which will play Serbia and Slovenia.
It's a well-deserved call-up given his impressive displays since joining the Serie A club this summer from Swedish side Djurgrden.
Djurgrden inserted a clause in his transfer to the Hellas Verona if he plays a game for the national team. Thus Djurgrden will receive two million euros for the call up.
“I feel a sense of pride that Isak Hien is in the national team. It is exactly as Janne Andersson said. That in March, Janne hardly knew who it was. Then that in September he might be an important cog in the national team because of what he performed in DjurgÃ¥rden in the Allsvenskan, in the European Games and above all also with Hellas Verona where he played five matches, says DjurgÃ¥rden's sports manager Bosse Andersson .
