Do you think Desailly should be given the Ghana job?

Former France captain Marcel Desailly says he is close to reaching a deal to succeed Milovan Rajevac as Ghana coach but should he given the job?

There is a clamour especially from the Minister of Sport Akua Sena Dansoa for the ex-France captain to be named to lead the Black Stars.

She, like some other Ghanaians, think that his profile on the international stage and the fact that he was born in the country should make him stand-out.

His supporters say he will be respected by the players because he played at the highest level and has returned to live permanently in Ghana.

But others especially coaches, administrators and football fans with long memories in Ghana football think he is a traitor is should not to considered.

Even though Desailly was born in Ghana, he turned down the opportunity to play for the Black Stars in the 1990s and after he has retired he is using Ghana's name to cash in.

He crticis also think he has no coaching experience and could send the Black Stars tumbling down just like great players like Maradona and Dunga did for Argentina and Brazil respectively at the World Cup in July.

They also say he has too many commitments in France and Britain where he works as a TV commentator for various stations and his several business interests wouldn't permit him to have the time to monitor and consistently evolve the Black Stars squad like Rajevac perfectly did.

Where do you stand?

Do you think Desailly should be given the job?

Do you think Ghana should go for a much more experienced guy who is ready to cope with the problems and politics associated with the team?
