Dutch legend Marco Van Basten worried by AZ Alkmaar forward Myron Boadu’s poor form

Former Holland forward and manager Marco Ban Basten is disappointed by AZ Alkmaar striker Myron Boadu’s form this season.

The Dutch-born Ghanaian attacker has been a pale shadow of himself this campaign and was out of sort as Alkmaar suffered defeat to Ajax in the Eredivisie on Sunday.

His performance left Van Basten fuming, insisting the striker has a lot of work to do to rediscover his form.

"He really has to train a lot with the ball. His feeling with the ball is very poor. He must take better, take with him and dribble in. That means working with the ball every day. He has to become a friend of the ball,” Van Basten told Ziggo Sport.

His points were affirmed by ex-AZ striker Kenneth Perez, who thinks the striker’s ability was exaggerated.

"Maybe Stengs and Boadu are not as good as we all think," Perez said at ESPN . "Maybe this is it. If they make the step to a top club, it must show how good they are. They can sit on the couch there after two bad matches. As a player you should also be able to handle that. Maybe they are. AZ players who play a world pot once in a while. "

Boadu who led last season's scorers chart has only netted six times in 18 appearances the 2020/21 campaign.
