Empoli sympathises with bereaved midfielder Afriyie Acquah

Italian Serie A side Empoli have sent their condolences to midfielder Afriyie Acquah who lost his father on Monday.  

Acquah, who scored in the 3-0 win over Sassuolo last Sunday, woke up to the news of the death of his dad Alfred Baah Yeboah.

The incident occurred at at the Sunyani Regional Hospital where he was on admission for close to a month.

A statement released on Empoli's website read: ''Il presidente Fabrizio Corsi e tutta la famiglia azzurra esprimono la propria vicinanza e il proprio cordoglio ad Afriyie Acquah per la scomparsa del padre Alfred Baah Yeboah.''

It loosely translates as: ''The president Fabrizio Corsi and the whole family of blue express their closeness and their condolences to Afriyie Acquah for the death of their father Alfred Baah Yeboah.''
