Ernest Asante played a role in my move to IK Start - Ibrahim Arafat Mensah

Ghanaian forward Ibrahim Arafat Mensah has revealed that he sought advise from Ernest Asante before signing for IK Start.

The 23-year-old joins the Norwegian top flight side from NK Aluminij after both clubs reached an agreement last week.

Mensah landed in Kjevik on Thursday afternoon and conducted a medical check at Sparebanken Sør Arena before signing the agreement.

The rasta-haired forward becomes the second Ghanaian in the side's ranks after Isaac Twum - who joined from Inter Allies last year.

Arafat Mensah has however disclosed that he sought advise from the club's former striker Ernest Asante before putting pen to paper.

"I grew up in the same club as Ernest Asante, Feyenoord Acadamy. He is a bit older than me, but I know him well. We stayed in the same place and were together, he says.

"I sent a message to him today, where I said I should sign for his club in Norway. I'm looking forward to talking to him."

Asante featured for the side from 2011 to 2014, scoring 25 goals in 109 appearances before joining Stabaek in 2015.
