Eskiserhirpsor to deny Ghana invite for Jerry Akaminko over neglect in injury treatment
Jerry Akaminko had made a full recovery from ankle injury

Black Stars team doctor Baba Adamu says Eskisehirspor are harbouring reservations over the release of Jerry Akaminko for future international assignments.

The Turkish club are unhappy with the way the defender was treated by the Ghana FA when he sustained a career-threatening injury in the lead up to the 2014 World Cup.

Akaminko has only started playing again since damaging his ankle.

And even though the GFA contributed financially to the operation of the 27-year-old when he first sustained the injury, Eskiserhirspor feel the GFA neglected the defender in his post-surgery rehabilitation.

“I think we should give him some time. With Jerry’s case, I have spoken to his handlers and the medical team (in Turkey) and they were not so enthused,” Ghana team doctor Baba Adamu told Dailysoccerghana.net.

“According to them, we had abandoned him but the FA paid for some of the bills for the surgery.

“The club managed the post-surgery management. We would be happy to have him back but they would use that as an excuse.”
