Eto\'o succeeds in banning ex\'s revenge book

As reported by L'Équipe, Samuel Eto'o has been successful in his attempts to get the Paris High Courts to ban the publication of a book written by his former lover, which lifts the lid on their seven-year relationship (2007-2014).

The book entitled 'Revenge Porn - Football, sex, money: the testimony of Samuel Eto'o's ex', penned by 29-year-old Nathalie Koah, was due to hit the shelves on Thursday.

The book is written from the point of view of a woman who considers herself to have been "humiliated and betrayed". The publishers, Éditions du Moment, lodged an immediate appeal against the decision, the outcome of which is set to be known on Monday. The relationship between the couple came to an end in 2014, when once again the courts were called to intervene.

Koah has accused the footballer of having published intimate photos of her online, in a case of revenge porn, which she's taken as the inspiration for the title of her work. The ex-Barcelona striker accused her of "fraud and abuse of trust".

The Cameroon international's lawyer told Metronews that, "this book is an act of revenge and is of no journalistic value at all". The defence, meanwhile, are arguing that the move to ban the book's publication owed to the fact that it comments on "the behaviour of some very well-known players and the dignity of women".
