Euro 2020: Memphis Depay named in Netherlands 36-man provisional squad

Dutch-born Ghanaian footballer Memphis Depay has been named in Netherlands 36-man provisional squad for the Euro 2020 championship starting on June 11.

The Lyon captain is among notable stars named in Frank De Boer's side for the tournament.

Frank De Boer named his 36-man provisional squad ahead of the tournament which will later be pruned down to 26.

UEFA has confirmed that national teams will be allowed to take 26 players to Euro 2020 instead of the standard 23-man squads.

Memphis Depay is expected to lead the Oranje in attack at the tournament.

The former Manchester United forward has scored 20 goals in 36 appearances for Lyon this season.

Depay has been linked with a move to Spanish giants Barcelona in the summer.

Netherlands have been tipped to progress out of their group ahead of Austria, North Macedonia and Ukraine
