Everton veteran Leon Osman is determined to ease the pressure on manager Roberto Martinez.

Martinez is feeling the heat after Everton's controversial Capital One Cup semi-final exit at Manchester City on Wednesday.

And defeat at FA Cup opponents Carlisle United will crank up the pressure.

Osman said: “It was initially one month but I must have done OK because they asked me for another two. Now, to see the ground as it was under water was incredible.

"I was keen to help out. I believe someone else has donated a pair of my boots. I have offered to donate a shirt and it's whatever we can do that helps get the town up and running.

“It's an important game for us. If we had got to Wembley everything would have been going great.

“I've had a number of chats with the manager and he's been very positive. No-one's more determined than me to bring silverware to this club."
