Former Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac is set to take up an appointment as the substantive head coach of Cameroon.

The Cameroon FA are in advanced talks to appoint the Serb who was proposed by the team’s kit sponsor Puma.

Officials of FECAFOOT were at the Puma headquarters in Nuremburg on Monday to hold discussions with their German kit sponsors on a wide range of issues including the appointment of a substantive coach.

Puma are willing to make a significant contribution towards the payment of coach’s salary once their choice of Milovan Rajevac is approved by the Cameroon FA.

The Indomitable Lions have been without a substantive coach since the departure of Volke Finke who was assisted by ex Black Stars striker Ibrahim Tanko in October.

Alexandre Belinga has since been in temporal charge of the side that progressed to the final phase of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

Rajevac, 61, is seen as the most preferred choice to take up the Cameroon job due to his prior experience with African football.

He was coach of Ghana between 2008 and 2010 and led the Black Stars to within a penalty kick of making the semi finals of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

The Serb however refused to extend his contract with the Ghana FA, preferring to cash in on his fame by moving to Saudi Arabia to coach Al Ahli.

He later became the coach of the Qatari national team but was sacked just one-year into the job.
