Former Ghana international Augustine Arhinful has advised Black Stars midfielder, Thomas Partey to consider leaving his Spanish side Atletico Madrid.

Partey, 24, has been a key member for the Ghana national team, captaining them on two occasions.

Despite his swashbuckling display for the West African powerhouse, he has had limited playing minutes at Spanish giants Atletico Madrid in the ongoing campaign.

According to Arhinful, the 25-year-old deserves more playing time than he is currently getting at Atletico Madrid and therefore should consider seeking for better opportunities elsewhere.

“Joe Addo is very close to Thomas Partey and I have been arguing with him to advice the boy to quit Atletico Madrid," Arhinful stated on Happy FM.

He added, “He should exert himself more on the pitch when given the opportunity to play."

The former Tema Youth enforcer has played three times for Atletico Madrid in the ongoing Spanish LaLiga season.

He has won 17 caps for Ghana since making his debut as a late substitute against Mauritius in the 2017 AFCON qualifier.

Partey is expected to captain the Black Stars today in the 2019 AFCON qualifier against the Harambee Stars of Kenya.
