EXCLUSIVE: French Ligue 1 club Stade Reims joins race to sign Gideon Mensah

Published on: 23 July 2020

French Ligue 1 side Stade Reims are latest to join the chase for Ghana left back Gideon Mensah, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively report.

There are numerous suitors interested in the services of the 22-year-old this summer.

Among them are two Belgian giants RSC Anderlecht and KRC Genk.

Vitória Guimarães from Portugal and French top-flight club AS Saint-Étienne are also interested in Mensah.

Mensah put in an excellent shift in the Belgian top-flight last season whilst playing on loan at SV Zulte Waregem.

The Red Bull Salzburg owned player made 23 appearances for Waregem in all competitions where he provided three assists in the process.

Mensah has returned to Salzburg after the loan spell but might be transferred this summer if the Austrian champions receive a lucrative offer for the youngster.

The West Africa Football Academy graduate made his debut for the Black Stars in October 2019 against South Africa in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifications.
