EXCLUSIVE: Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila recovers from injury, steps up training

Ghana and Qadsia SC defender Rashid Sumaila has stepped up a training programme after recovering from an injury, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively report.

The 27-year-old suffered the setback during the side's stalemate against Al Sahal in the Kuwaiti top-flight league two weeks ago.

The centre-back has been given all clear to start a special training programme in order to return to the pitch and participate in the league and Prince Cup.

The Ghanaian has confirmed he could be involved in the Emir Cup scheduled to start on Thursday February 20.

"The upcoming confrontation with Qadisiyah in front of the coast in the first round of the Emir Cup, scheduled for February 20, may witness my return to defending the colors of yellow," Sumaila said in a press statement. 

"The Royal will fight hard to win the league title. We have great chances despite the advantage of the two adjourned matches for Kuwait, if we maintain the momentum of victories, we will win the league with the remaining matches.
