EXCLUSIVE: Ghana goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi completes move to St. Gallen

Published on: 25 January 2020

Ghana goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi has completed his switch to Swiss side St. Gallen, GHANASoccernet.com can exclusively confirm.

The former Ghana U-20 goalkeeper joined St. Gallen from French Ligue 2 side Sochaux, after fruitful negotiations between the two clubs.

Ati-Zigi replaces Dejan Stojanovic, who left the Swiss club to England to join Middlesborough.

Sports Director of St. Gallen Alain Stutter is delighted by the arrival of the Ghana international and believes he will quickly integrate into the squad because of his fluency in the Dutch language.

"So far he has made a very good impression and that he speaks German is of course another advantage for quick integration," FCSG sports director Alain Sutter is quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, the Black Stars number 2 is delighted and ready for the 'new adventure.'

"This is the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in his eyes. Glory be to God of Israel. You give me more than I deserve. Iam forever grateful. New adventure," he posted on social media.

Ati-Zigi made 16 appearance for the French side since joining the club from Austrian giants Red Bull Salzburg.
