EXCLUSIVE: Ghanaian forward Terry Osei-Berkoe leaves Belgium side Lierse Kempenzonen

Ghanaian forward Terry Osei-Berkoe has announced his decision to leave Belgium's lower tier side Lierse Kempenzonen, GHANASoccernet.com can reveal.

The 22-year-old has six months left on his current deal with the club and can negotiate with any club of his choice since there are no plans for renewal at Lierse.

The frustrated youngster believes it is time for him to move for a new adventure.

“In the last few weeks it became abundantly clear that I no longer really featured in Lierse's plans,” Osei-Berkoe told hln.be.

“In the meantime I had been released from my knee injury for a while, but I had to wait for my chance. At the end of November I got a starting place against Westerlo and then I did it quite well. Still, I disappeared from the team the following week. Recently I asked the technical staff what my sporting prospects were and then I was told that I could leave. ”

"Moreover, my expiring contract was not renewed last summer," the winger reveals. “I stayed with Lierse, but on an amateur basis. The intention is now to sign a full-fledged agreement elsewhere with a club that fully believes in me. I am convinced that I can be of value to many more teams. Now the hope is that someone will give me a chance. Due to circumstances I haven't played much in recent months, but that only made me hungrier. ”

“First national would be a good level to relaunch, but for the time being the lower heats have come to a standstill due to corona. In addition, budgets are under pressure in many places. Anyway, I keep believing that there are still interesting offers to come. In the meantime, I will try to maintain my fitness level individually or through training with Lierses B-core ”, concludes Osei-Berkoe.
