Ghanaian striker Elvis Manu is on the verge of joining Kazakhstan giants Astana as talks with his agents have advanced, Ghanasoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.
The 28-year-old is set to join the former UEFA Champions League campaginers as a free agent but on a bumper salary.
This comes after he opted to leave Bulgarian side Ludogorets at the start of the month after two impressive years.
Manu is seeking new opportunities as a free agent and Asatana officials are keen on grabbing the Ghanaian by next week.
Even though the deal is yet to be sealed there is likely to be some transfer fee involved as he left Ludogorets with the understanding that the Bulgarians would earn some amount as he still had some time left on his contract.
His agents have already advanced with the talks and hope a deal could be reached for Manu to return to the pitch in the coming days.
The striker and Ludogorets mutually agreed to move separate ways after he made 57 appearances and scored sixteen goals for the club.
"PFC Ludogorets thanks Elvis Manu for what he has done at the club and wishes him success in his future career," the club wrote on their official website earlier this month.
Manu was declared a free agent can now join any team of his choice but the Bulgarian club will have a share of the amount paid for his services.
The Dutch-born forward signed for the club in 2020 after he ended his stint in the Chinese Super League.
The former Dutch youth international joined Ludogerets from Chinese club Beijing Renhe in 2020.
Although both parties are said to have tried to extend a deal for the player, they have decided to mutually part ways after the first round of the 2021/22 football season.
Ludogorets will receive compensation when the player signs for another club.
During his time at Ludogorets, Elvis Manu made 47 appearances and scored 16 goals.
