EXCLUSIVE: Yunus Musah eligible to play for Ghana
Yunus Musah

Yunus Musah, born in the United States of America to Ghanaian parents is eligible to play for the Black Stars.

The 18-year old has never lived in Ghana, nor played for any of the junior national teams, he can still play for the African football giants because of his parents who were born in the West African country.

He has been a break out star for Spanish side Valencia in the ongoing campaign since joining from Arsenal.

Musah received a call up to play for the USMNT in last November's international friendlies against Wales and Panama and started both games.

Those appearances alone are not enough to lock him in for the United States because neither was a competitive match.

FIFA rules allow switching international allegiance until a player has featured for a country in a competitive setting, whether it be a qualifier or official tournament.

The youngster can also represent England where he has already played for the junior national teams.

Musah lived in England for eights years before moving to Spain to continue with his career.

The English FA has an eye on the youngster hoping he will declare his intention to play for the Three Lions.

Musah still 18-year old has the chance to represent any of the four countries, USA, England, Italy and Ghana.

He has made 23 appearances for Valencia in the La Liga this season and has scored one goal.
