Fans praise Tariq Lamptey performance against Chelsea

English-born Ghanaian footballer Tariq Lamptey has been  praised by fans following his outstanding performance for Brighton and Hove Albion in their opening Premier League fixture against Chelsea.

The former Chelsea academy graduate was excellent in the game despite his side losing 3-1 to the West London club on Monday.

The 19-year-old had caught the eye across Brighton's last eight matches after joining from Chelsea in January.

The teenage sensation has steadily progressed within the England youth teams. He now has four appearances in the U20s after amassing 12 of those in the U19 and U18 teams combined.

However, he is eligible for a call up to the Black Stars and with his ability to fill in at right midfield, he provides an extra option should Charles Kwablan Akonnor decide to reach out to him. Tariq Lamptey is definitely one for the future.

Currently, Lamptey will find it difficult breaking it into the England national team who have available Kyle Walker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Reece James, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Kieran Trippier. This might make his decision to play for Ghana senior team easier.
