Experienced goalkeeper Fatau Dauda says it was a huge honour for him to be a member the Ghana squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Dauda manned the post for the Black Stars in two games at the World's biggest football tournament.

The 35-year-old was the goalie when Ghana drew 2-2 with eventual winners Germany and also kept in the 2-1 defeat to Portugal.

Ghana exited the tournament after finishing last in the group stage .

The veteran goalkeeper believes it's a privilege to have represented Ghana at the mundial, a feat most revered goalkeepers in the country never managed.

"Is good to play in the World Cup, sometimes it happens once in a lifetime," he told GTV Sports+

"I was very excited because there were a lot of goalkeepers in Ghana but I had the chance to be at the World Cup,"

"Some legendary goalkeepers like Eddie Ansah and Abukari Damba couldn’t get the opportunity to play at the World Cup but I was able to play."

The former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper has represented Ghana three Afcon tournaments namely 2008, 2013 and 2015.

Dauda is currently the skipper of Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities FC.

He has previously played for Okwawu United, AshantiGold SC, Orlando Pirates, Chippa United and Enyimba FC.
