Former Ghana goalkeeper  Abubakari Damba says Felix Annan, took the best decision to leave Asante Kotoko after falling down the pecking order at the club.

The former Asante Kotoko captain terminated his contract with the club last month after spending 10 seasons with the Kumasi-based side.

Annan had been relegated to the bench and his position taken over by Razak Abalorah.

He made just four appearances in the Ghana Premier League for the club last season.

According to Abubakari Damba, Annan needs to re-launch his career by joining a club that will guarantee him regular playing time.

“He needs to give himself some new challenges and opportunities. For me, he wants a new challenge and needs to take some time off so he gets his mental stability back”.

“It is very important, else he will fail woefully. He should move on, Kotoko is always there and he can always make a return. He has played there for a decade. There is no opportunity at the club now and he must move on”, he said in an interview.

Damba advised the former WAFA goalkeeper to consider a club that will guarantee him regular playing time in his next move.

“If I was him, I will go to a team with less pressure and play every game so that he can regain his confidence. I would wish to take him to Real Tamale United. I can sacrifice to help Felix Annan get back to his best”.

Felix Annan is currently in the UK for holidays and is expected to announce his next destination before the start of the 2021-22 Ghana Premier League.
