FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup: Big blow for as Ghana captain Evelyn Badu is ruled out of tourney with injury

Ghana has been dealt a massive injury blow with captain Evelyn Badu ruled out of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup tournament in Costa Rica. 

The talented forward is almost certain to miss the tournament after she picked up an ankle injury in training.

The Ghana FA has confirmed that the Avaldnes forward, who is currently in POP, is awaiting scan results to determine the extent of the injury setback.

She will miss her country's opening match against giants the United States of America today (Thursday) at the Estadio Alejandro Morera at 17:00 GMT.
