Fifteen Black Stars begin work-out in Accra

Fifteen players trained under stop-gap coach Akwesi Appiah at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra on Tuesday morning ahead of this Sunday's Nations Cup qualifier against Sudan.

Sunderland defender John Mensah, recovering from an injury, lasted the entire duration of session as he got deeply involved in jogging and kicking of the ball.

Two home-based goalkeepers-Isaac Amoako and Daniel Agyei took part in the work-out which lasted for close to an hour.

AshantiGold midfielder Sampson Cudjoe called-up as back-up for Kevin-Prince Boateng and newcomers Emmauel Clottey and Seth Owusu were present.

The list included Udinese duo Emmanuel Agyeman-Badu and Kwadwo Asamoah, Prince Tagoe and Isaac Vorsah from German side Hoffenheim, Samuel Inkoom, Bernard Yao Kumordzi.

John Paintsil, Asamoah Gyan and teenager Jordan Ayew complete the list.

The team will train for the second time this evening where absentees Andre Ayew, Richard Kingson, Anthony Annan, Hans Adu-Sarpei, Lee Addy and Jonathan Mensah are expected to join.

Ghana play Sudan at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on 10 October.
