Fight will go on despite Liverpool owners back-down

Speaking to the BBC, Liverpool fans' group Spion Kop 1906 has stated that battle may have been won but the 'longer war isn't over'.

Yesterday, the Fenway Sports Group apologised and scrapped its plan for a top-priced £77 ticket and a member of Spion Kop 1906, James Cooke, told BBC Radio 5 live that he was "pleasantly surprised" by the club's decision.

'There's a feeling amongst football supporters that we were fighting a good fight but it was always falling on deaf ears,' he said.

'We had 13 months of consultation with the club, repeatedly telling them their plans would go against what fans wanted, but they didn't listen.'

Moving forward, Cooke believes that the fight for affordable ticket prices will go on and fans must unite to achieve successful action in this regard.
