Eintracht Frankfurt legend Thomas Thomas Berthold believes the Eagles have not missed the services of Ghana international Kevin Prince Boateng.

Boateng left Frankfurt in the summer to join Italian side Sassuolo despite a phenomenal season with the Germans, helping the club win the DFB Pokal.

The Eagles finished the first round of the Bundesliga sitting 6th with 27 points and recorded an impressive six wins in the group stages of the Europa League.

"Ex-star Kevin-Prince Boateng probably would not have helped much with the kind of football, because he often took the time out," Berthold stated.  "Nevertheless, especially in games in which the Frankfurt fell behind, that right in the center formative figures were missing," he added.

"Nevertheless, in midfield Eintracht has the most pent-up demand for a reinforcement in winter."

Kevin Prince Boateng, however, has been an instant hit at Sassuolo scoring five goals already despite struggling with injuries.
