Former Ghana striker Baba Armando paid a surprised visit to his former club Krylia Sevetov Samara in Russia this week.

Armando interacted with top club officials, including Chairman Vitaly Shashov, coach and players.

He was also taking on a tour of the club's Secretariat and training complex.

The 39-year-old attained legendary status at Krylia Sovetov after playing a key role in historic qualification to Uefa Cup(now Europa League) in 2005. He also scored the competition’s goal of the season against Dutch outfit AZ Alkmaar with an extravagant bicycle kick.

“I am happy to be here again, it was a great visit and it brings nostalgic memories. This was my first club in Europe and I made my mark,” Baba is quoted by footballmadeinghana.com

“The fans are amazing, and they are one of the best. I wish the club good luck in the ongoing premier league,”

Baba is one of the most revered African players in Russia having played for Krylia Sevetov, Locomotive Moscow and others
