Former WAFA forward Augustine Boakye has hit the ground running in Austria after scoring on his first appearance for Wolfsberger.

Boakye scored his first goal for Wolfsberger in their impressive 6-1 win over ASV Siegendorf in the Austrian Cup on Tuesday.

He replaced midfielder Michael Liendl in the 46th minute and found the net with less than 10 minutes to end the game.

Boakye arrived at the club early this month but a slight knock delayed his debut.

The club confirmed reaching an agreement with WAFA for the acquisition of Boakye on the summer transfer deadline day.

Boakye signed a four-year deal and is expected to blossom there before earning a bigger move in Europe.

The 20-year-old was one of the best players in the Ghana Premier League last season. In 29 games, he contributed 21 goals, scoring 10 and assisting 11.

He as well picked up seven man of the match awards.
