Defender Edward Kpodo is in talks with Berekum Chelsea over a return to the former Ghanaian champions.

The centre-back is without a club as his two-year deal with Armenian club, Urartu expired in July.

According to local media reports, Kpodo and Chelsea talks are well advanced.

The 30-year-old is likely to sign a contract before the new season starts in the second week of November.

He was part of the Berekum Chelsea team which won the Ghana Premier League in 2011 and also reached the CAF Champions League Group stage.

He moved to Russian outfit Khimki in 2013 and subsequently also played for Armenian clubs Ulisses, Gandzasar, Shirak, Banants, and Urartu FC.
