Getafe offered chance to sign Gareth Bale

The representatives of Gareth Bale have offered La Liga side Getafe the chance to sign the 32-year-old on a free transfer.

Bale recently confirmed that he would be leaving Real Madrid after nine years at the club and that he had plenty of offers on the table.

90min understands that hometown club Cardiff City are plotting an audacious double swoop for Bale and Aaron Ramsey following Wales' qualification for the 2022 World Cup, but they aren't alone in the race for the forward's signature.

Getafe sporting director Angel Torres has told Spanish media that Los Azulones, who are based in the suburbs of Madrid, have been offered Bale.

“I spoke with Gareth Bale's representative. They have offered him to us. We have to study it with the Getafe coaching staff and sports management," he revealed.

Bale was criticised by local media during his time in Spain for his failure to adapt to life in the country and learn the language, though has since proven he can speak a respectable level of Spanish.

Though his relationship with Real Madrid fans was at one point sour, the two parties ended on good terms, with Bale receiving a warm ovation at their trophy parade after winning the 2021/22 Champions League.
