Spanish La Liga side Getafe have promoted Ghanaian midfielder Sabit Abdulai to the first team.

The 21-year-old made the substitute bench in the side's 3-1 win at Elche on Monday.

The Techiman-born enforcer joined the La Liga side on a season long loan from Extremadura UD in August last year.

However, the Ghanaian was restricted to the developmental squad since he arrived but finally been handed the opportunity with the first team after impressive outings.

He was an unused substitute as Getafe recorded a 3-1 success over Elche at the Martínez stadium Valero.

The Ghanaian youngster joined Extremadura UD from Spartans FC in July 2018 on a one-year loan deal and was assigned to the reserves in the Tercera División.

After enjoying some impressive playing time in the Tercera División, he signed a permanent five-year contract with the club.
