Ghana ace Mohammed Kudus finally breaks silence on 'weird injury' against South Africa

Ghana and Ajax midfielder, Mohammed Kudus says the injury he picked while playing for the Black Stars in a World Cup qualifier against South Africa in November last year was a weird one.

Kudus was forced off after just ten minutes of the game against the Bafana Bafana following a problem with his rib, despite not coming in contact with any player to cause the injury.

The Ajax star had to sit out for almost three months but made his return last week when he featured in the Eredivisie game against FC Twente.

"The injury against South Africa was a weird one because normally you have an impact from an opponent before you have a rib injury.  I was disappointed again, but it happened. The most important thing was my rehabilitation and the mental part," he told Ajax's media.

Mohammed Kudus missed the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon even though he was included in the team and there were reports he declined to join because of the use of 'juju' in camp.

However, the religious Kudus explains his faith overrides everything he does and believes in God's plan.

"I'm very religious and I believe in God's plan for me. I train well and take good care of myself, which gives me complete control over my body. That's how I try to stay fit. Everything else that happens is in hands of the Man above and I undergo with confidence," said the youngster.
